About Us
seeing with other eyes
We are a mother son duo who is working with wood. Our strive for finding ways to express ourselves and the natural beauty of the material keeps us busy making stuff.
Andrea is always looking for new pieces of wood. To bring out their special grain and flatter it as well as possible she uses various techniques, mostly lathing.
I, Konrad, am specialized in wood sculpting. Going through this world with open eyes I see inspiration everywhere, therefore am eager to put all my ideas into action. That results in me trying different styles and media along the way. Not only do I make sculptures in wood, but also use carpentry, painting, drawing and much more to “figure” everything that I got in my head out.
The Vision
aesthetics through natural beauty
Incorporating creative designs in normal everyday objects or expressing what I see and feel is the core topic of my art. I love to take traditional methods as far as possible and mix some modern ideas into that. Often trying new media and never keeping still you can expect some interesting things coming up.
Andrea is fascinated by the natural beauty wood got. She first studies a chunk and gets inspired by its structure and pattern, only to lathe a perfectly fitting vase, bowl or pretty much anything out of it. The language of form of those objects then amplifies this beauty even more.
